| Exterior
"dressing" is recommended prior to buffing, polishing, and
waxing. Exterior dressing protects the rubber moldings, trim,
plastic door handles, and windshield wiper arms from buffing
residue, making final clean-up easier.
Before you begin dressing the
exterior, it's important to know the difference between two of Auto
Magic's® popular dressing products.
The first product, #33 Magic Dressing™, is a ready to use,
non-dilutable solvent-based silicone dressing. It restores
new luster and adds weather resistant protection to vinyl
upholstery, tires, rubber moldings, and exterior trim. Magic
Dressing™ is not to be used on engines.
#65 Super Dress-It® is a concentrated water-based
silicone dressing for interiors, exteriors and engine compartments.
It restores original beauty to vinyl upholstery and trim,
dashboards, air vents, tires, rubber moldings, vinyl tops, and
hoses. Super Dress-It® may be diluted with water.

STEP 1:
REMOVE ANY ROAD OILS & TAR IN THE FENDER WELL AREA (If necessary)
Apply #23 New Car Solvent to a towel then agitate the dirty area. Do
not spray solvents. |

STEP 2:
DRESS TIRES & FENDER WELLS
Dress all tires & fender wells with either Magic Dressing™ or Super
Dress-It®. Avoid spraying directly onto
the tires; rather use an applicator pad. This will help reduce
dressing from "slinging" onto the body panels when
driving. Keep dressing off the wheels and wheel covers. Let the
product penetrate. Wipe the dressing off the tires with a towel, if desired,
for a satin look. Keep it on for a glossy look. |
|

STEP 3: DRESS RUBBER MOLDINGS, TRIM, DOOR JAMBS,
& BUMPERS (If applicable)
Using an applicator pad, dress the rubber body panel moldings and
trim around the vehicle with #33 Magic Dressing™. This will not
only leave a water proof barrier on these areas, but make wax
residue clean-up easier. Do not dress chrome or painted moldings.
Now open all doors, including the trunk, and dress the rubber jambs. |

STEP 4:
RE-BLACKEN TRIM, MOLDING, & ENGINE PARTS
(Optional)
Bring faded black trim, molding, rubber parts, and engine hoses back
to life with #38 Black Vinyl Dye. #38 is water based safe. Use a foam
Vinyl Dye brush and carefully "paint" it on. Remove excess dye with a
water dampened cloth. |
